Bodoland University: A Beacon of Higher Education in Western Assam. Established under the Bodoland University Act, 2009 by the Assam Legislative Assembly, Bodoland University came into existence on 28th February 2009 as the first and only institution of higher education in the western part of Assam. It has rapidly emerged as one of the fastest-growing universities in Lower Assam, dedicated to addressing the educational, socio-economic, and developmental needs of the region, particularly the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).As an affiliating State University, Bodoland University plays a pivotal role in providing access to higher education for the local populace, while also extending its academic outreach to adjoining states and neighboring countries such as Bhutan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. The University currently boasts 17 Postgraduate Departments, 53 Affiliated Degree Colleges, 4 District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs), 3 B.Ed. Colleges, and a Law College. In alignment with the University Grants Commission’s Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS), the University offers Postgraduate and Integrated Five-Year Programs across various disciplines.
